Health education rarely makes headlines. It is quiet work — a session here, a demonstration there — but its impact compounds quietly over years, in habits formed young and carried forward for a lifetime. That is exactly the kind of work Project Street School is committed to.
On 20th February, we conducted a Dental Awareness Workshop at Wahdat Boys High School. The session brought professional dental guidance directly into the classroom — covering the basics of oral hygiene, the importance of consistent dental care, and practical steps students could begin taking immediately in their daily lives.
For many of the students at Wahdat Boys High School, this was their first encounter with structured dental health education. That is not a criticism — it is a reality that drives our work. Professional guidance on something as fundamental as oral care is too often unavailable to children in underserved communities, and sessions like this exist to close that gap.
We are grateful to the school for welcoming us, and to the dental professionals who gave their time and expertise. Awareness is the first step — and today, a room full of young boys took it.
The work of building healthier communities begins exactly here.
